When Ruth Bader Ginsberg, associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, died in 2020, after Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell refused her the honor of lying-in-state in the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol, the first woman to ever have the honor, Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives, gave permission for Ruth to lie-in-state in Statuary Hall where the likes of Senators Daniel Webster, John Quincy Adams and Henry Clay once stood resulting in making it much more poignant.

  Mr. Clay was the very first to lie-in-state at the Capitol,

IN THE ROTUNDA, in 1852. 

  All I know is, that Mitch deserves a good smack.
