Johnny Depp spent $3 million dollars to shoot the writer Hunter S. Thompson’s ashes out of a cannon. When asked about the extravagance, he said…he was only carrying out his best friend’s wishes right to the end.

When Richard Burton died in 1984 of a brain hemorrhage his ex-wife, Elizabeth Taylor, was not invited to attend his funeral in Geneva, Switzerland by his widow, Sally Hunt Burton. The last Mrs. Burton was worried her presence would turn the somber day into a circus.
Elizabeth respected her decision.

The writer Stephen King, on June 19, 1999, while out taking a walk in Maine where he lives, was hit by a driver who lost control of his car.
Seriously injured, hospitalized for a month his doctors considered amputating his right leg. He was in such pain from a smashed hip sitting for any length of time excruciating, he decided to no longer write he recaps in his well received book, On Writing (2000).
Thanks to the love and care of his wife Tabitha, he healed, 31 more novels to his name proving once again, love has the last say. ![]()
